Museum Overview
A safe and family-friendly walk offering a beautiful diversity within a short distance: along the banks of the Isère River and a paved path lined with a variety of tree species. Follow in the footsteps of an ancient Roman road, once a trade route between the South of France and the Savoy region.
From the Fauries car park, follow the Isère river along the path located behind the charging stations for about 100 m. Then pass under the archway, cross the road and then take the Pavé ascent, an old medieval road which leads to the Transformer.
Throughout this route, you will discover a concentration of the characteristic tree species of the local forests: oaks, ash, maples, wild cherry, hornbeam, and chestnut trees. Along the way, take the time to observe the ancient paving, the period structures, and the ruts worn by the carts and wagons that once reached the castle mound known as "Le Pain de Sucre" (Sugarloaf), overlooking the Saint-Lattier valley.
