Museum Overview

Discover the characteristic atmosphere of the Chambaran, a hilly and wooded area, ideal for cycling enthusiasts in search of nature, gentle slopes... and beautiful viewpoints.
Easily accessible by train (Valence, Grenoble-Isère).

From Vinay station, after a 2 km connection, the route first plunges into the Isère valley via a small shaded road, before winding through the plain to the Perron bridge (km 11).
The first climb (2 km) then takes you to a slight uphill section towards the village of Saint-Vérand. This is where things get serious, with a steady ascent to the edge of the Chambaran forest. Over nearly 10 kilometers, this gradual climb gives you more altitude... and more views: the Vercors and Chartreuse mountains are revealed to you in all their splendor.
Take the time to savor these panoramas as you descend to Varacieux. Be careful, however, as the road is narrow in places.
The rest of the route is punctuated by a succession of small hills and flat areas, over approximately 8 kilometers, until Serre-Nerpol, at the foot of the last difficulty of the day: a climb on a narrow and winding road, typical of the region.
The finale is pure pleasure: a rolling descent of around ten kilometers through green valleys, between open pastures and shady undergrowth. As the bends unfold, the Vercors plays hide-and-seek with the nearby hills, offering a changing and always striking spectacle.

On the way, don't miss a visit to the Grand Séchoir, just a stone's throw from the center of Vinay, to learn all about the history of the Grenoble Walnut PDO!
