Museum Overview
Theme of the 2026 edition: "Heritage of photography" Presentation of the collection of photos of Canon Crozel taken between 1898 and 1911.
The Friends of La Galicière are taking up the theme of the 2026 edition: "Heritage of Photography" to present the collection of Canon Crozel, found in the attics of La Galicière in 1997.
Unveiled in 2002 on the occasion of the first opening to the public of the site during the exhibition “Strangers at the Window”, these photographs taken between 1898 and 1911 take us to the heart of the 1900s. Scenes of daily life, festivities, pilgrimages, villages, churches and landscapes of the Dauphiné, a trip to Italy, a journey to Savoy… so many testimonies attesting to the changes that took place during the 20th century.
These photos explore the familiar world of our ancestors through the sharp eye of one of their own.
From the festive atmosphere of patronage days to the frozen poses of posed portraits, the exhibition offers an opportunity for a journey back in time.
Alongside the exhibition, an installation will present a collection of cameras dating from the 1890s to the 1970s. The cameras are displayed in the buildings of La Galicière.
