Museum Overview
A traditional chocolate factory steeped in history and flavor, where everything begins with a warm welcome, reminiscent of a dollhouse. A true culinary experience awaits, with the option to visit behind the scenes of the chocolate-making process and sample our warm chocolates in foil packets.
Located at the foot of the Vercors, in a natural setting, the Frigoulette Chocolate Factory awakens the taste buds of the most curious and gourmets, in search of the best chocolate.
It is an exceptional and purely artisanal chocolate factory which was established more than 18 years ago in Beaufort-sur-Gervanne, surrounded by nature in the heart of the Vercors.
With her small team varying from 5 to 9 employees (from apprentice to senior, to retiree), Patricia TRIPOTIN, the manager, had to reinvent herself, diversify and position Frigoulette chocolates in the high-end market while making the brand shine beyond the Drôme and French territory, even internationally.
His challenge is to "surprise and introduce his customers to the true taste of chocolate": dairy-free, gluten-free, preservative-free, palm oil-free and low in sugar... all this with a single bean, unique and renowned for being the best in the world, pure origin: Sao Tomé.
Nothing but good for your health!
Hazelnut praline, papillote (lactose-free), chocolate-covered cocoa beans, candied orange peel, Malakoff, or candied ginger cubes coated in chocolate…
Everything is "Handmade" from production to packaging.
Surprising flavors that you absolutely must discover!
The historic recipe that awakens the taste buds of all gourmets… is of course the Frigoulette papillote: a dark chocolate fondant combined with crushed Sicilian hazelnuts, roasted over a wood fire in the Creuse… a unique recipe which is produced in more than 4 tonnes per year, including 3 tonnes for Biocoop.
A rare and exceptional chocolate: without milk, without cream, without animal fat!
While the homemade production is undoubtedly high-end, with surprising flavors, the demanding approach allows the chocolate factory to be labeled by the prestigious Collège Culinaire de France, as well as by Gault et Millau, Guide du Routard, Petit Futé, Vallée de la Gastronomie, Biopartenaires, Initiative Remarquable…
Organic and Fair Trade chocolate, thanks to Kaoka, the sole supplier of beans and couverture chocolate, which ensures perfect traceability from a single origin.
“Sao Tomé” for the Frigoulette chocolate factory:
a reassuring income policy for producers, permanent reforestation for 25 years, and the direct management of a cooperative of 3500 producers.
This should reassure consumers seeking meaning in pleasure!
Here, chocolate is crafted, tasted, and purchased, but it's also revealed through tours that trace the entire journey and transformation of the cocoa bean. Those with a thirst for knowledge can appreciate the chocolate-making process by creating their own chocolate treats, all while enjoying warm chocolate from the fountain.
It's a chocolate ode in a chalet, where everything begins with the welcome, like a dollhouse through sensory theatre.
The team of enthusiasts surrounding Patricia Tripotin enjoys interacting with visitors and sharing their unique expertise.
This is a truly gourmet experience for visitors, but be warned, it's best to book your visit and workshop in advance!
An excellence that goes beyond the mere pleasure of tasting.
The must-try is the DAIRY-FREE Hot Chocolate, which can be enjoyed in summer or winter thanks to its lightness and intense flavor. Absolutely delicious!
