How about talking about medieval medicine? Through the characters of Jeannot, sick of burning sickness, through the apothecary monk, the Antonine novice to the barber-surgeon, medieval medicine is revealed and surprises you!

Go back in time when the abbey of Saint-Antoine and the Antonins cured the terrible illness of the ardents!

Jeannot, a young carpenter from Pont-en-Royans, comes to be treated there. He has the terrible fire of Saint Anthony or mal des ardents. He got a little lost on the way but he really hopes that the Antonins will be able to heal him, or rather Saint Anthony the Great. From the Porterie to the abbey church, follow him and discover this jewel of Gothic architecture in Dauphiné at the same time.

Who better to tell you how we treated in the past than Célestin, novice Antonin? He is so proud to be part of a powerful and learned religious order. But be careful, not far prowls the barber-surgeon Alfred. He's not very bad, unless you have a wound that gets infected or a limb that needs to be amputated. Don't provoke him too much or you'll regret it.

Calm returns with Brother Pierre, monk-apothecary of the abbey. He is so passionate about plants and their virtues that he could talk to you about them for hours.

But it's time to find Jeannot. What happened to him ? Did he survive the terrible burning sickness? Did Saint Anthony want to heal him?

What if you plunged into the heart of the Middle Ages to understand how people used to treat themselves in the past?
