Presentation

Surrounded by the massifs of Belledonne, Chartreuse, Oisans and Vercors, the city of Grenoble offers a pleasant living environment and enough to fuel crazy desires for getaways as soon as the weather is suitable.

Leaving Grenoble, you take a peaceful and shaded greenway, in a wild landscape, offering an impressive view of the Isère river and the white rock cliffs of the Vercors. You follow the wooded dykes of the Isère and discover the islands of the river where many species of birds nest. Take advantage of a break at the Moirans - Voironnais area to observe them. Another asset for gourmet cyclists, you also cycle through the heart of the largest walnut grove in Europe. And the Grand Séchoir, a museum dedicated to walnuts, is the end point of your stop… ideal for stocking up on omega-3!

Type : Marked roaming

Delicate passages

Near Saint-Gervais, the greenway ends at the bridge marked by a barrier. At the bridge, turn right for 6 km, the difference in altitude is significant. The first 500 meters are done on a busy road on a cycle lane; thereafter the route is on a low-traffic road. From Saint Gervais to Vinay, the route is ascending. For less experienced riders, electrical assistance is strongly recommended.
