Temporary exhibition

From the Arthurian epic to the courtly novel via hagiographical stories, literary genres show clothing in its diversity, both a protective and defensive envelope for the body.
A true social marker in the Middle Ages, clothing distinguishes the individual who wears it through the materials, the colors, the very nature of the textiles without forgetting the accessories: shoes, jewelry, furs.

Within this exhibition, a multiple and colorful West is revealed, where adornments and fabrics are much more than a question of appearance. Objects of art, textiles, sculptures but also precious manuscripts and pieces of armor are revealed within a unique scenography for a hand-sewn visit.

As part of the Des Habits et Nous cultural season, supported by the Department of Isère
