Presentation

Based on metamorphosis, clear fountains in patois and traditional songs from Burgundy and the Alps, the 8 singers of the Okâ ensemble (re)discover oral, rural and popular cultures full of verve! A 100% acoustic concert.

Carrouge is a locality and comes from the old French “caroge” which means “crossroads”.
At the origin of the project, there was the discovery of songs from the traditional Burgundian and Alpine repertoire through collections preserved by the CMTRA, Center for Traditional Music in Rhône-Alpes and the MPOB, Maison du Patrimoine Orale de Bourgogne.
These are ghost stories in patois, Burgundian versions of the Claire Fontaine, songs
shepherd in rain or sun, dances, calls to animals, polyphony of women from the Aost Valley... These repertoires, rich in both their musical and poetic quality, are the expression of a peasant oral culture sometimes little known, which the choir wishes to make heard.
The eight musicians who make up the Okâ Isère ensemble sing and transmit traditional songs from Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean basin (Evasion, Malinka, Terra Canta, Nana Sila).
Here they offer a unique look at this repertoire, combining their musicality and knowledge of traditional music with work around improvisation and patois.

As part of the artistic residency of Oreille en Friche and CTEAC supported by Saint-Marcellin Vercors Isère Community.

By the Okâ choir, under the direction of Elsa Lambey, Compagnie L'oreille en friche, with Elsa Lambey voice, flutes, percussion, direction, Maëlle Truffa voice, percussion, guitar, Camille Truffa voice, percussion, flutes, Camille Perret voice, percussion, viola, Marina Cotte voice, percussion, Emilie Lainé voice, flutes, percussion, Laurence Giorgi, voice, percussion.
