Presentation

Robberto and Milena Atzori develop artistic work as a pair. Their practice is resolutely protean and combines different techniques, such as painting and sculpture, with processes derived from artisanal know-how such as embroidery.

Their works result from constant and shared creative emulation, although the two individual approaches retain all their autonomy and complementarity. The artists transmit to the public the same effervescence at work during the creative process, through the symbolic, evocative or freely interpretable forms that they produce. Their work, often installational and monumental, therefore crystallizes this multiplicity.

For their first personal exhibition in a French art center, the artists offer an immersive and narrative journey, with an allegorical appearance and populated by chimeras. They open up a reflection on the time of life and that of minerals. Essentially sensory, the exhibition is imagined in situ, for our rooms and in direct resonance with the geology of the region.
Involving visitors' bodies in the same way as their most instinctive feelings, the Atzori duo invites them to enter a space shaped by the erosion of water. This underground environment allows them to raise questions about our “being in the world” as well as to address the transience of human existence in a terrestrial chronology of immeasurable duration. Adopting a sensitive approach to the works, the audience will travel through a surreal environment which, perhaps, initiates an introspective exploration in real life.
