an equestrian tourism territory

Near the Chambaran forest or in the Coulmes massif in the Vercors, roaming over several days, in a day loop or during courses in equestrian centers: beautiful experiences combining contrasting landscapes, history and conviviality await riders experienced or beginners.

A practice that respects the environment and promotes the discovery of heritage and local cultures, equestrian tourism is completely in line with the values of Saint-Marcellin Vercors Isère. Alongside the Isère Cheval Vert association with the new “Equestrian Tourism Territory” label, the region is committed to developing equestrian roaming and supporting structures specializing in welcoming riders.

Can you tell us a few words about you and your accommodation?
Hello, my name is Maëva and I am the manager of “La clef du Vercors” 4 ears at Gîtes de France. I have wanted to have my own accommodation in the Vercors since I was very young. In this brand new gîte with the soul of a 5-bedroom chalet that can accommodate up to 13 people, we wanted to combine authenticity and modern comfort. Our objective: to offer rest to riders after a day of effort, saving time for organization and magnificent, varied and surprising landscapes of the Vercors massif.

Why did you turn to equestrian tourism?
I knew that the region lacked accommodation in this route, so it seemed important to me to open up to this clientele, especially since I am myself a rider and graduated with a BAC PRO CGEA as well as a ATE (Equestrian Tourism Guide).

What are you putting in place to welcome riders into your structure?
To best accommodate riders, we have parks available which we modify according to the number of horses and demand. We can also provide a meal and a picnic on request.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Clé du Vercors!
