Presentation

Installed in the composer's birthplace, the museum presents an important collection evoking Hector Berlioz: the family universe, his relations with the world of music, his travels and concerts across Europe...

Hector Berlioz was born in La Côte Saint-André in Isère on December 11, 1803, where he spent the first 18 years of his life. His birthplace, built around 1680 in the heart of the city, has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1942.
Today it is a museum dedicated to the memory and work of this composer, considered one of the greatest representatives of European romanticism. The museum recreates the artist's universe: discover his loves, his family, listen to his music and enjoy the tranquility of his garden.

Interactive systems allow young and old alike to discover the interpretation of the composer's work over the centuries.
Temporary exhibition, free concerts, conferences and workshops in collaboration with the Berlioz Festival punctuate the year and make the walls resonate!
