Presentation

Departing from Pont-en-Royans, a picturesque village with hanging houses, this route first criss-crosses the Isère valley then climbs in hairpin bends on the slopes of the Vercors. Then comes the descent to Choranche and the Bournes gorges.

From Pont-en-Royans, take the D518 towards Valence then the D531, pass Auberives-en-Royans, at the roundabout D531/D1532 turn right.
Follow the D1532 for about 400m before turning left to take a municipal road.
At the crossroads with the D71A turn left towards La Sone, pass Les Loyes, at the intersection with the D71 turn left then immediately right to reach St-Romans.
At the crossroads with the D1532, turn left towards Grenoble.
At the traffic light turn left on the D518.
Before the Beauvoir bridge turn right on the D31 to the crossroads with the D1532 then turn left on the D1532 for 200 m before turning right to take the D31.
Cross Saint-Pierre-de-Chérennes and tackle the difficult climb to Le Faz.
At the crossroads with the D292 turn right.
Cross Presles and go downhill to Pont-en-Royans via the D292 then the D531.
